A bit background of this guy... He's name is Mas Selamat he was arrested by the indonesian police on Bintan island in jan 2006... Based on investigations he was the leader of the Singapore Jemaah Islamiyah network, a terrorist organisation. They then send the man to Singapore in 2006. The 45-year-old father of four was also said to be involved in JI's plans to mount attacks against foreign and local establishments here.

Mas Selamat fled Singapore in December 2001 following an Internal Security Department operation against the terrorist organisation.

The militant leader had been on the run after Singapore authorities discovered plans to crash seven truck filled with bombs at various locations around the island.

Investigations also revealed that he was the mastermind behind a plan to hijack an airplane and crash it into Changi airport. Yes right changi airport 

Yesterday afternoon (wednesday) he escaped from detention centre toilet....

immediately intensive manhunts have been carried out on wednesday night...

But still the suspects is at large...

Early on Thursday morning, the SAF military police and guardsmen were brought in at about 6.30 am to beef up the huge security cordon around the wooded Malcolm Park, near the Singapore Chinese Girls' School and the vicinity.

A snaking line of more than 20 military and police vehicles, including a 5-tonner truck, occupied the left most lane of Dunearn Road, causing the morning rush hour traffic to slow to a crawl.

SCGS which is near the detention center has increase it's security level... every car entering and exiting the school has to be check...

Malaysian police have also stepped up security on the border...
